Stranded Fisherman/Crew and Vessels abroad

 When Sri Lankan fishing vessels adrift / poach in the territorial waters of other countries are detained by the naval or coastal authorities of the respective countries, the Consular Affairs Division intervenes through the Missions, in order to secure the release of the vessels and the crew.

Necessary Supporting documents:

• Proof of identity of the complainant/applicant/relative/next of kin
• Letter from the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources
