Deputy Minister of Tourism Hon. Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe assumed duties at the Ministry in 2024.

Prof. Ranasinghe serves as a Member of Parliament representing the Badulla District, having been appointed to Parliament through the National List. An academic by profession, he has contributed extensively to the fields of tourism studies and higher education.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Tourism Management and has served as a professor and researcher, bringing both academic expertise and practical insight to his role in government.
